Amidst Yellowstone National Park's 150th anniversary, a precedent-setting event unfolds: "Yellowstone Revealed." Indigenous artists, connected with their ancestral land, share projects steeped in traditional ecological knowledge, the act of rematriation, and ceremony. What surfaces is a profound revelation: how they exist in relation to this living, breathing landscape is interwoven with the memories of their ancestors and the legacies they are creating for future generations.

How can we rethink our Education system? Can we trade cinderblock square classrooms for the open skies and river valleys of our ancestors? Come join our land based classroom as we meet various Indigenous Knowledge Keepers and Elders that will share the importance of the traditional land, culture, and the language here on amiskwaciy-wâskahikan (Beaver Hills House), also known as Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They are all wonderful and amazing storytellers and this is our gift to you, a collaboration of incredible Indigenous people working together to pass on our collective knowledge to future generations, students and viewers alike. Decolonizing Our Youth

This film is presented by The Akwesasne Freedom School, a sovereign Mohawk immersion institution dedicated to preserving the language and culture that colonization sought to erase. Through the wisdom of elders, they ensure the Mohawk language and identity thrive for future generations. The Opening Address (Ohen:ton Karihwatehkwen) is the central prayer of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy). It expresses gratitude for life and the natural world, opening and closing all social and religious gatherings. Recited daily at sunrise, it is an ancient message of peace and appreciation for Mother Earth. It teaches that all people are family, and diversity is a gift. By offering thanks to the Natural World, one becomes spiritually connected to it. The Opening Address fosters mutual respect, conservation, and the understanding that what we do to the Web of Life, we do to ourselves.
