Director Biography - Jade Castro

Jade Francis Castro is an award-winning Filipino film director, screenwriter, and producer recognized for his distinctive voice in contemporary Philippine cinema. His debut feature Endo (2007) offered an incisive portrayal of the precarious lives of contractual workers in urban Manila, while Zombadings 1: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington (2011) achieved critical and popular acclaim as a landmark queer cult classic.

During pre-production for All the Things I Leave You (2025), Castro and three companions were unlawfully detained by provincial authorities for forty days before being released following public outcry and legislative and judicial intervention.
