The 'Rolling in the Deep' series takes us to exotic region of the Visayas in the Philippines. This area in the central Philippines is known for its diverse underwater environment.This was filmed throughout multiple trips to areas such as Dumaguete, Dauin, Oslob, Malapascua, Moalboal, Apo Island, Siquior. These areas are known for world class macro diving, and amazing encounters with pelagic subjects such as whale sharks and thresher sharks. It also has tremendous coral reefs.I hope you enjoy the short film.

Gobies are small short lived little fish in order Gobiiformes. They are found thought out the world, on reefs and in sand. This film explores the uniqueness of these ubiquitous little fish.

The 'Rolling in the Deep' series takes us to exotic island destination of Romblon Philippines. This little known location is located in the heart of the Phillipines. It boasts some of the best underwater critter diving in the world. Known for its super macro, you need make sure you are prepared for the smallest of creatures. The amount of diversity and rare creatures found here is staggering.

WATERS, from the limited series Shared Planet, highlights inspiring stories from Idaho to Indonesia, focusing on hope in the worldâs oceans and freshwaters. In this segment from Raja Ampat, dynamite fishing once threatened marine life, but it is now a Marine Protected Area with unmatched biodiversity and more jobs for local people.

A Remarkable Recovery

The Flood is a genre-defying underwater music video by Canadian artist Ben Caplan. Shot entirely in the coral-rich waters of Cozumel, Mexico, the film uses no CGI or post-production effectsâonly the raw elegance of breath-held performers and natural light. Directed by acclaimed cinematographer Eduardo de la Cerda, the video transforms spiritual lyrics into a visual metaphor for surrender, resilience, and beauty in the face of adversity.

The Flood

The Ring of Fire is the name given to the belt of 400 active volcanoes that circle the Pacific Ocean. More than 155 of these volcanoes are in Indonesia. Diving in the Banda Sea takes place among historically significant islands - also known as the "Spice Islands", the endemic spices led European voyagers to sail into the unknown trying to find the origins of nutmeg and clove. Banda Sea is one of Indonesia's top diving spots, and one of my favorite. The dives are challenging... deep, cold (for SEA standards) and often with strong currents. Difficult diving, but with a chance of big rewards. It's almost like gambling, you might be unlucky, but when it's good, it's really good.

A Love Affair

Gili Eco Trust has been replenishing coral reefs in Gili Matra marine park in Lombok, Indonesia, by using different restorative methods of coral gardening, coral propagation and the Biorock reef restoration technology.Biorocks especially, have shown remarkable success in restoring damaged coral reefs and have proven great resilience to temperature stresses and global warming. Biorock technology enhances coral growth up to 8 times and was the driving point of survival to our reefs in the 2016 mass bleaching event, which we predict won't be the last mass warming event of its kind in the face of climate change.Our Biorocks use a low voltage electricity supplied from the main grid or solar panels. Our mission was to find a renewable ocean energy supply to power these artificial reefs sustainably. Then, we can utilize marine currents to provide electricity to Biorocks, making the technology completely renewable and replicable everywhere, even in remote places.In 2020, we founded a partnership with a UK-Canadian tech startup: AquaGen (formerly known as Dynorotor). Designing an ocean turbine uniquely for Biorock technology and in 2021 we won a grant from EOCA (European Outdoor Conservation Association) allowing us to install in November 2023, a large coral restoration project with Spencer Arnold artist and underwater welder from Conservation Diver. This coral installation will restore a huge section of damaged reef in Gili Trawangan, whilst running off-grid, giving the chance of being replicated in remote areas.It will raise awareness to millions of people through scuba-diving and eco-tourism and aims to replenish fish stocks by restoring previously destroyed ecosystems.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of blue sharks are caught for their fins - many of them juveniles, as we were able to document during an investigative filming trip with the NGO Elasmocean to Spain.This is the harsh reality of the shark fin trade in Europe's largest fishing port, Vigo. The EU remains one of the biggest exporters of shark fins in the world.Over 1 million EU citizens called for a ban on the shark fin trade. The EU listened - and did nothing.This is still legal. This is happening. Right now. We need more pressure to hold the EU accountable. The sharks canât wait! We need to ban the shark fin trade in the EU once and for all!

Discovering a Macro Ecosystem in Koh Tao - Thailand!If you mention the words muckdiving on a boat, many destinations are quickly mentioned by other divers aboard.Most of these locations are located in Indonesia &amp; The Philippines, however rarely will you hear anyone mention Thailand. And while Koh Tao is a well known destination in the dive community, it's not known for much else than whale sharks and calm waters.Not meant as a comparison to anywhere else, but Koh Tao has a lively muck habitat extending pretty much around the entire island.This was for the most part shot during Covid, when we had nothing else to do but luckily we had this! I will always appreciate the time when 4-6 weekly muckdives were the norm.In this documentary I explore some of the species that we have here. I hope you enjoy!

With up to 90% of California’s kelp forests lost in some areas, now is the time to invest in science that could help regenerate them.

Tavolara is a rock just off the coast of northern Sardinia, Italy, that boasts one of the healthiest marine ecosystems in all of the Mediterranean. It lies within a strong marine protected area (MPA) called the Punta Coda Cavallo Marine Protected Area. Although this is an example of how a marine protected area can help preserve and protect marine ecosystems, even here the effects of climate change, rising sea temperatures, and overfishing of the Mediterranean have contributed to degradation of the coral and fish life.

Led by professional underwater photographer Mark Strickland, I had amazing interactions with Humpback Whales in the deep ocean, and learned that sharing the beauty of these animals with other people can have a positive impact on the whales.
