Safe Passage, a feature doc crafted in seven 5-8-minute segments, reveals that the imminent threat to each animal (cougars, toads, eagles, snakes, butterflies, coral fish, bats) is the lack of 'safe passage' through human-wildlife conflict, defined variously through that animal's needs for survival. Using scientific evidence provided in aerial photos, maps and other graphics, live action footage of each animal comes back into play. The specific problem is narrated, primarily in voiceover (VO) by the people who have been instrumental in trying to create safe passage action plans, usually with minimal resources, but much community support and effort. As the ideas evolve, and as ordinary people try putting them in place, whether they will succeed or not remains a question. What is inspiring is their ongoing courage and determination to make a difference.
