The Bond that Broke is a raw and deeply personal mother-daughter documentary tracing the generational impact of eating disorders, told through the intertwined stories of Kathi, a former professional ballerina who battled bulimia for decades, and her daughter Zoe, a clinical psychologist who devoted her life to healing others from the same affliction. Through intimate recollections, diary entries, and professional insights, the film unearths the psychological scars, societal pressures, and silent struggles that defined their relationship—while celebrating the unyielding love that helped transform pain into purpose. In confronting the legacy of disordered eating, The Bond That Broke becomes a story of resilience, recovery, and redemption across generations.
