James, a young writer, is assigned to interview a store owner during its grand opening. In the store, he spots an album cover that derails his night. He convinces the owner to let him hear the album before the interview and the music pulls him into another realm, where he meets Taylor, a now-successful musician and his former lover. They spend the night reminiscing about their relationship. As it ends, Taylor voices her disappointment: though they split amicably, James had promised to design her album cover, then ghosted her and never delivered it. When the album ends abruptly, so does their conversation, leaving James to face reality without finishing his interview.
