A music video for "Frozen in Time" by Vinius, which, through playful surrealism, explores the post-2020 social malaise experienced by many Americans, alienation from nature, and feeling stuck in an endless cycle of meaningless labor.
Director Biography - Caleb Soon

Director Statement
My goal for this music video was to explore the post-2020 social malaise and isolation in America, along with the many things that haven't seemed to change since the COVID-19 pandemic. I see our universal alienation from nature, and the endless cycle of meaningless labor, as being main themes in both individuals, and society at large, being "Frozen in Time". I structured the story to play as an infinite loop, and incorporated a circular visual motif throughout, to capture our culture's inability to progress beyond this vicious cycle.
I developed the surrealist visuals, in a vaguely commercial style, to further assert the feeling that the widespread overconsumption and over-saturation of corporate media propaganda is exacerbating a continually deepening disconnection from reality across our collective consciousness.
So this music video invites the viewer to question to social, political, and economic system we collectively agree to perpetuate, and ask who it ultimately serves for us to remain frozen in time.
